PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR: Phillip Hamrick, Ph.D. (2013, Georgetown University)
Phillip Hamrick is the LCR Lab PI and is an associate professor at Kent State University with expertise in language, learning, and memory.
He conducts behavioral, computational, and electrophysiological studies of how language is learned and processed in the mind and brain. His work focuses broadly on three key areas:
1.) Roles of general memory and learning processes in language acquisition and processing.
2.) How words and their meanings are learned, organized, and accessed in memory.
3.) Meta-research on research methods and statistics.
His work has appeared in numerous prestigious journals, such as Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Bilingualism: Language and Cognition, Language Learning, Learning and Individual Differences, Studies in Second Language Acquisition, and Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology.
